We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible. This online local food market is sponsored by the not-for-profit NATIONALASSOCIATION OF LOCALFOODSYSTEMENTERPRISES,which does not itself take a profit from its organizational-sponsorship of this online local foods market.
The Association does however collect enough money to cover overhead expenses to maintain the economic sustainability of this online local food security initiative; such as the 5% virtual booth2basket fee paid by consumers to process a final purchase transaction.
The Market Manager, LOCALUPFOODS.COM (a division of Steamtown Enterprises SPC of Washington State) receives 1% of finalized product sales from the booth2basket fee. We (the Association) are charged 3.00% of finalized market sales by its designer, namely www.locallygrown.net, for the use of this great online software platform. The web-platform vendor digitizes and streamlines many of our online market-networks’ operational and online-transaction requirements such as through the STRIPE card payment processing platform.
The Market product VENDORS are charged 5% of their finalized sales, of which 4% of their fee goes toward compensating the Market Manager; the Manager assist local food vendors in setting up and maintaining a number of digital features to facilitate their online-offerings to you, the consumer.
We donate and additional 2.00% of our sales to Raise Your Fork WASHINGTON!, A consumer education non-profit established in Washington State in 2012.
What is left goes toward paper, ink, and maintaining our own digital presence (the trade association’s domain and server expenses). Our presence, online, allows us to promote sustainable solutions for improving local food security and local economies around the nation and in your community.
